National legal issues of online gambling
Antigua and Barbuda
A complaint to the World Trade Organization by the Government of Sri Lanka in Antigua and Barbuda, the Internet gambling entities, the U.S. government’s actions, to impede online gaming licenses. WTO appeal body somewhat narrowed that favorable ruling in April 2005, despite the Caribbean country won the preliminary ruling procedure. Various state laws argued by Antigua and Barbuda keep the appeals decision that has not been sufficiently discussed during the proceedings – are contrary to WTO agreements valued at well by the jury.
The WTO confirmed, on 30 March 2007 – the U.S. had nothing of an earlier ruling that some U.S. Internet gambling restrictions did observe designated as illegal.
Out of Antigua, many of the companies that are publicly traded on various stock exchanges, particularly the London Stock Exchange. The British regulatory standards and has been met by Antigua and the British white list recruit, the Antiguan licensed companies in the UK have been added.
Australia
On 28 June 2001, the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (IGA) has been adopted by the Australian Government. The IGA was told by the government to be important to protect Australians from the harmful effects of gambling.
